This series of tubes represents a significant improvement over the initial generation of watertight enclosure tubes. The aluminum tube boasts precision-machined O-ring interfaces at each end, ensuring a consistent and reliable fit with the sealing flange. The smooth surface finish of the tube guarantees proper sealing between the O-ring flange and the tube.
The tube also features a gland for a locking cord and a slot for cord insertion at the ends. This slot serves a dual purpose as it also acts as an anti-rotation feature, aligning with a feature on the flange. This design ensures the flange maintains a consistent orientation with the tube, preventing any potential damage to the contents of the enclosure due to inadvertent rotation of the flange.
